Planning on building in Banff Saturday, come if you can!

Hello,

If you're reading this you are interested in igloos. If you're in range of Banff Alberta this weekend, write a post to arrange to join in building the first igloo of the season!

We've lots of snow from last weekend, and the temperature is to reach +2C both Saturday & Sunday. This is also the first time we've hit melting temps since the snow fell, so the building conditions should be very forgiving!

Exact location will be revealed upon interest. 8-) I can say though, that it is on a flat space protected from the sun by trees, which should help its lifespan.
If you're not having fun, you're not doing it right!

It was great weather for it, despite my pole setting errors. =) One co-worker came and others sent their regrets that they couldn't make it.

I've since met others at the igloo that were interested in building the next one, but the present cold snap has scared them off a bit. =) I don't blame them; -30C is not an encouraging temperature to start building an igloo at!

The coldest I've ever built at was -27F. in Yellowstone. It certainly requires appropriate clothing and a good set of lungs.
Glad you found others that are interested though, can't have to big a circle of friends that want to build igloos.
