Campout with kids

Post by Kevin Brooker » Tue Feb 25, 2014 7:02 pm

We have been building snow shelters and IceBox igloos for several years. Yesterday my 10 y.o. son asked if we could build an igloo and have a sleepover with e few of his 5th grade friends. On Wednesday we are having an old fashioned igloo raising and the plan is to sleep out on Thursday. One adult and three kids. Should be fun. I'll report how it goes. My hope is the kids make it from a rather late evening to at least sun up. My children are old pros at igloo living and we hope to have a few new practitioners by the weekend.

Well, glad to hear you're enjoying the igloos. Hope you newest outing went well and we have a few more igloo converts!

We all had a blast. Outside it was -10F and the inside temps remained 25F. For two of the kids it was the first campout, ever. The igloo was a big hit.
